Subject Teacher in Swedish as a Second Language

At Komvux Malmö, we are looking for a subject teacher for teaching Swedish as a second language at the basic level for a permanent position in our retail and sales training program.

Responsibilities

As a teacher, you work to help students develop their full potential – both academically and socially. You support, motivate, and stimulate each student to meet the knowledge requirements based on their circumstances. Your work includes planning, teaching, assessment, as well as evaluation and development of the educational activities, in accordance with the school's governing documents. Specifically for this position, you will work to provide students with linguistic tools to communicate and actively participate in everyday, community, and working life by:

• Teaching all study paths within SFI and all modules within basic SVA
• Planning and organizing teaching together with vocational teachers
• Workplace-based learning (APL) - follow-up together with vocational teachers
• Being part of a team with both vocational and language teachers and being involved and active in development efforts.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Teaching certification
• Qualification to teach Swedish as a second language at the basic level
• Experience in teaching Swedish as a second language
• Experience in teaching or educational work
• Familiarity with using digital tools for communication and pedagogy
• Very good Swedish in speech and writing.

Meritorious:

• Qualification to teach other subjects.

We are looking for someone who is confident in the teaching role and who creates good conditions for students' learning and development. You adapt your teaching according to the student's and group's circumstances and prior knowledge through a creative approach and a very good pedagogical ability.

Your working method is characterized by good structure and you prioritize and organize tasks effectively. Additionally, you contribute to good collaborations and communicate openly, clearly, and sensitively with your surroundings. You also understand how students' backgrounds, cultures, and group affiliations affect learning, and you create an inclusive learning environment where all students have the opportunity to succeed.
